Professor Chris Grof

Professor Chris Grof completed his PhD in Plant Metabolism at James Cook University, North Queensland, Australia. He then spent 5 years in the UK as a Postdoctoral Fellow, firstly at the Research Institute for Photosynthesis with Professor David Walker and then at the University of Oxford with Professor C.J. Leaver. In 1993, Christopher was appointed by CSIRO to establish a sugarcane molecular physiology program at the Cunningham Laboratory on the University of Queensland campus. Prior to travelling to Brisbane, Christopher spent three months at the Hawaiian Sugar Planters Association (HSPA) based on the island of O Ľahu, as a visiting Research Fellow. In 2008, Christopher was appointed Professor of Plant Science at the University of Newcastle.
